Marco Abalroado is the Managing Director of Access Bank Mozambique, part of the Access Bank PLC Group based in Nigeria. He took over the leadership of the bank, in Mozambique, in 2018, where he oversees operations and defines the institution’s strategic model for Southern Africa. Holding degrees in Business Management and Industrial Engineering from the Instituto Superior de Ciências do Trabalho e da Empresa (ISCTE, Portugal), he also completed a postgraduate program in Project Management from the Instituto Superior de Gestão (ISG, Portugal). Recently, he completed executive education programs at Harvard, including the Authentic Leader Development Program and the Access Bank Leading Change Program.
A seasoned executive, Marco Abalroado has gained extensive international experience in the banking sector, holding several high-profile positions throughout his career. He was Financial Services Manager at Accenture Management Consultants, Deputy Director in the Operational Transformation Department at Millennium BCP and Global Project Manager at Banco Espírito Santo (BES), where he served as Executive Vice President and Director of International Units. In Mozambique, at Moza Banco, he spearheaded the establishment of the Information Technology and Operations departments.
