W initiative

The W Initiative was launched in June 2014, a project dedicated to women, and which aims to empower them by offering a combination of existing banking products and services to meet women's financial and lifestyle needs and to provide them with a complete and unique banking experience.

The W Initiative provides the following offers:

  • Pitch a Ton; 
  • W Card;
  • Neneca Credit.

Pitch a Ton

A program that aims to inspire, connect and empower women

 

Introduced in 2021, this program is designed to empower women entrepreneurs across Africa with essential financial and business skills, focusing on female empowerment.  This initiative is designed to create an environment conducive to the growth of women entrepreneurs' businesses.    


Objective:

  • Empower women with SMEs in Mozambique through access to business training, entrepreneurial and financial support skills to help them expand and grow their businesses.
  • Provide robust training and networking opportunities for women entrepreneurs.


Eligibility criteria:

  • Be a woman aged between 18 and 55, who owns at least 40% of the shares in a company.
  • The company must have been operating for at least one year.

W Card

Transaction limits:

  • ATM withdrawals - 30,000 MZN
  • POS transactions - 350,000 MZN
  • ATM transfers - 75,000 MZN

 

Benefits of using the Card

  • Access to discounts on products and services in partner stores.
  • Making the card a reference point for women in Mozambique.
  • Whenever possible, organize, together with the bank, competitions that can benefit the Access client on commemorative dates (e.g. payment exemptions).

Neneca Credit

Access Bank has designed a line of financing that can meet women's needs.

Neneca is a loan for all women who wish to give birth safely and comfortably, in renowned hospitals in Mozambique and abroad. It also covers additional expenses or treatments incurred during the prenatal period.

 

This facility is granted through two funding schemes:

  • Neneca - Christmas Support - Funding to support women with their prenatal and Christmas expenses.
  • Neneca - IVF Treatment - Credit line to support female fertilization treatments.

 

Financing of labor and birth costs

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Work in an institution with a financing agreement with Access Bank.
  • Receive a salary from Access Bank Mozambique (minimum of 1 salary) except civil servants who receive through e-SISTAFE.
  • Have a salary account with regular KYC.
  • Be between 21-50 years old to finance prenatal and maternity expenses.
  • Present hospital bills for the medical treatments and procedures to be offered.

 

Terms and conditions

  • Financing available only for payment of expenses in hospitals agreed with the bank.
  • Financing does not include additional expenses such as patient travel and accommodation.
  • Term - Min.06 | Max. 24 months 
  • Amount- Up to 734,000 MZN

 

Financing the costs of fertilization treatment and non-invasive fibroid treatment:

 Eligibility criteria

 

  • Work in an institution with a financing agreement with Access Bank;
  • Receive a salary through Access Bank Mozambique (minimum of 1 salary) - except civil servants who receive through e-SISTAFE.
  • Have a salary account with regular KYC.
  • Be between 21 and 40 years old to finance In Vitro Fertilization and associated procedures.
  • Present hospital bills for the treatments and medical procedures to be offered. 

 

Terms and conditions

 

  • Financing available only for the payment of expenses in hospitals agreed with the bank.
  • Financing does not include additional expenses such as patient travel and accommodation.    
  • Term- 06 to 36 months
  • Amount - MZN 1,060,000
